Am really in love with this brooch, the greens are just perfect...The beauty of it as well is that using a different button or coloured silk thread completely changes the look every time.
As I try to make as many of my brooches as One Offs, the changes are unlimited....
I am nearly out of these greens....so a trip to Auckland will be needed soon to stock up, have lunch with friends in the City and enjoy the quiet of the ferry trip home again to gaze at all my goodies...as well as the view of course!
These have been great fun to make....I had tended to stay in a circle for my felt brooches then one afternoon, Meryn & I were toddling along the beach at Onetangi when she decided it was time to lay down & look at the clouds.....you know, the way a 22 month old can....so there we were, looking at the clouds & the birds and the trees, & there above my head was the most beautifully shaped cloud....all soft & puffy, just the most perfect cloud shaped cloud...lol....so I came home, Meryn had lunch & then off for an afternoon nap.....and I made these...A flower, cloud hybrid! There are only three at the moment, but sat here looking at them...there will be more soon, I am feeling all cloudy again!
This was the first design of brooch I made...ooohhh...way back in August 2009!
It has been really popular, with several wholesale orders as well, which is so nice.
They were sent down to Shine in New Plymouth as well as to Cows Go Moo in Christchurch....
I love them for their ever changing colours, their eclectic collection of designs and the buttons...I have been making my own buttons recently, so they are now even more gorgeous!
I am just in the end process of a Designer Collection for the Auckland Art & Craft Fair in July.....They rock! I love them! Lots of Amy Butler, Michael Miller, Cath Kidtson.....And ALL with buttons to match!

As well as the "Designer Range" of brooches, I have also made hair ties & bands with the floral brooches as well as button hair ties with the Designer Range fabric.......All in all, I have been in heaven for the last few weeks, cutting & pinning, and sewing & folding...Will post some up over the weekend :-)
